Amelanchier Lamarckii. A deciduous understory tree or small shrub. Young leaves emerge bronze and have tiny silky hairs ageing to dark green and then orange in autumn. Before the leaves appear in spring graceful clusters of dropping cup shaped white flowers appear. They are slightly fragrant. Edible dark purplish blackberries summer. Northern hemisphere June hence the common name of juneberry. Berries can be used for jams jellies or pies
